In the interests of progressive social values, the Editorial Board at BCB has decided to take a firmer position on the social issues facing Canada today. We want to be clear people know our biases, so we cannot be accused of hiding anything. Here are our opinions:
- While we are not comfortable with gay marriage between two men, we do support their right to have an abortion.
- We support the rights of attractive gay females to marry, as long as they are willing to release steamy wedding night videos on the Internet.
- We do not support interracial gay marriage.
- We strongly endorse polygamy.
- We support the Government using the notwithstanding clause to protect the rights of people to perform traditional animal sacrifices. We do this less on the basis of freedom of religion, but moreso to piss off radical animal rights groups.
- We do not support Sharia Law but we do support Shania Twain!
- Everyone should be allowed to carry swords, especially if they are cool LOTR ones! This right should not be restricted to those following a religious tradition.
- Instead of prayer, schools should play Jesus Was Way Cool by Punk Rock band King Missile each and every morning.
- Everyone should take a deep breath once in awhile.

In his recent movie, Farenheit 9/11, Michael Moore all but declares that George Bush is an idiot, especially when it comes to foreign affairs. While we do not necessarily disagree, we wanted to probe further to find out more about Mr. Moore's own savvy in this area.
Let's review.
It seems Michael Moore is under the impression that people from Toronto don't lock their doors.
Michael Moore thinks it is appropriate to go in to foreign countries, like Canada, and thwart election laws to promote his movies.
Michael Moore thinks Canada's health care system is simply amazing and does not need fixing. I will seriously consider his point during the 10 months I have on my waiting list for a gastro-intestinal diagnostic procedure.
Michael Moore is capable of successfully pointing out Canada on a map.
Well, heck, that's one for four. Perhaps Michael Moore is pretty smart about other countries after all.
But, just like Michael Moore "documentaries", we're not trying to influence you -- you decide for yourself.

As journalists, we take some time this month to reflect on the recent kerfuffle among our colleagues at CanWest Global publications across Canada.
Since we are completely unbiased, yet still love our good Prime Minister very dearly, we are able to present a completely unbiased view on the issues of concentration and moral leadership in Canadian media.
We start with the premise that everything is fine, and nothing is wrong. We conclude with the same premise.
We also take a look at the leadership questions surrounding the current Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, and have concluded that anyone who criticizes him does so because they are not nice, and they should just be quiet!
This editorial was approved by the head office of SuperMegaMedia Corp. Any views to the contrary of these are strictly prohibited by this publication.

With the non-starter talk of merger between the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative Party, our in-depth investigative report looks at the coming realignment on the left.
With the breakup of the NDP nearly inevitable, several prominent Liberal backbenchers have formed the BHLC, or the Bleeding Heart Liberal Coalition.
Speculation in Ottawa is that this group may join the non-Labour split of the NDP, factions now bored with the Green Party, the rump of the Communist Party, and pro-environment Marxist-Leninist Party supporters. (A source told the BCB that the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada recently split into 27 separate parties due to various differences of opinion. Of particular contention was whether the upcoming "new socialist pro-persons revolution" should include a special ceremony hanging all corporate CEOs.)
We look at whether or not this new left-wing coalition will finally offer Canadians a true alternative strong enough to topple the Liberal majority.
