Doo Doo Enron, Ron, Doo Doo Enron

I was going to write my column about Enron, the deregulation of the electricity market in the United States, energy trading, off-balance sheet liabilities, auditing errors, auditor responsibilities, the future of the accounting profession, or executive incentives vis-a-vis stock prices.
Instead, I wanted to get to the core of the issue.
Enron was a poorly run company, elevated by a bunch of hype, and fuelled by arrogance.
Now, it is over and everyone is sick of hearing about it. Hopefully some real news will happen soon so we don't have to hear about this crappy company anymore.
