Herb Dhaliwal Receives Warning from SUV Club
Monday, November 25, 2002 - Vancouver, British Columbia
Natural Resources Minister and SUV Afficionado Herb Dhaliwal received a severe blow today when a reporter discovered a letter marked "urgent" from his SUV club. It reportedly warned Dhaliwal to "tread carefully" in his remarks regarding SUVs, or face possible expulsion.
After an interview last week with the Minister of Environment, Dhaliwal did not deny his ownership of two SUVs and two gas-guzzling Volvo's. He came under fire again on the CTV television show, Question Period.
"Perhaps if I stop burning incense on my SUV shrine, this will help the environment in some small way," Dhaliwal reportedly offered, "I could also stop burning $100 dollar bills every time I light a big, fat cigar. This is a major sacrifice, given that I am a self-made millionaire, didn't you know?"
Dhaliwal reportedly sometimes drives other people around in his SUV. When other people are unavailable, he will sometimes drive papers, folders, and portable computers.
The President of the Way High Driver's Club of Vancouver, Bill Phatcar, was unavailable for comment.
